Sense and sensibility

Saw this beautiful pair of platorm heels at Payless today, and it's only $10!! What a steal. I was rally tempted to buy it because it just looked so good, but I ultimately did not because I really think that comfort is the most important thing when it comes shoes, dame common sense, always cause me to make sensible decisions. But I honestly cannot imagine myself wearing a 5 inch heels.

Outfit of the day

Saw this huge wall of mirror at Shoppers today, and could not resist from taking a outfit of the day picture~ I am loving maxi dress this year!! The maxi dress is from bebe 2b. The top of the maxi dress is a little revealing for work so I wore a fitted cardigan from Banana Republic.

I would normally wear high heel with this dress, but I wore a Tommy Hilfiger flipflop for comfort.

Girl's night out!

I love hanging out with my girls <3 I really treasure the fact that we still takes the time to hang out after soooo many years. Work can get stressful sometimes, but it's chill times like this that makes life really fun! I got me self shaved green tea ice... it's a dessert  where they shave flavoured ice paper thin and it just melts in your month. It's definitely a great alternative to ice cream, less sweet, less cream, less calories! Somehow I gained a few pounds recently... really want to get them off but there always seem to be reason for me to indulge in deliciously high calorie food >.< OMG...

Bargain hunting

It's only Tuesday and I am looking forward to the long weekend already! One can never have too much holidays<3. I have been messaging some of my distant friends today, everyone's lives are so different now, we no longer worry about the same test or project deadlines anymore...

I was walking around in Shoppers Drug Mart today when I saw and bought this cleaning wipe since it was on sale and I had a coupon for 5 dollar off. I love getting a bargain for things!!!

I believe this is one of the new products Neutrogenia introduced earlier this year. I have not been a big user of the brand, but i have heard good this about its new line of products introduced recently. 

Besides, cleaning wipes are just convenient, I leave them everywhere so I can remove my makeup whenever I want. 

BMB kimchi fries

Had Kimchi fries from Banh Mi Boys today~ boy, my artery feel a little clogged but my stomach is still a little hungry. I read about the infamous artery clogging fries after I heard about it from a friend, But my curiosity got the better of me and I end up eating it anyways, but boyfriend and I decided to share it. For those of you who do not know what kimchi fries is, it is fries with mayo, topped with pulled pork, kimchi and green onions. It is certainly an interesting combination, and a good poutine, but nothing I cannot recreate myself, though I probably would not ever bother to make the pulled pork...

Life is too short to not try it at least once, and I am too young to live by the rules. 

Personal Achievement

My boyfriend and I went to Buskerfest today~ It was so much fun!!! I always think that street performances is the best kind! All there performers that were there were all so full of humor! And squeezing between people to actually see the performer is all part of the fun <3.

I guess the best part about this festival for me is that I actually get to buy festival stuff this time because I feel I am financially capable now. I remember going to other festivals in the past and not buying anything because I did not feel right about spending my parents' money knowing how hard they worked for it, but today, I ate churros for the first time even though I have longed to try one since I was 16 and I got a extremely over priced lemonade when we got thirsty. I know its lame, but it's somewhat of a personal achievement.

Extreme sun protection

I get asked a lot by my non-Asian friends as too why Asian people are so afraid of the sun, to the extent that they have to use an umbrella?? My answer typically sounds something like, 'it's just the culture, everybody do it.' 

Now today I saw something that even I found a little odd to look at. It was a beautiful day and there was this old couple running/speed walking on a track field near my house, what was unusually was that they were carrying a umbrella while they were running!!! And I was like, OMG, we Asians are little weird when it comes to  the sun. At least they were well equip against sun damage.

Date night

It's FRIDAY!! The sound of the word F-ri-day is just musical~ Friday is date night with my boyfriend, we had some pizza and chillaxed while watching some Big Brother episodes online. Neither one of us can actually afford the luxury to sit in front of the TV and watch the episodes during their broadcasted time, so we watch it online while eating pizza on a Friday night.

Friday also means that I get to shop a little bit after work . For those of you who are Shiseido fans (ME~) I have the inside scoop that there will be a gift with purchase event starting September 4th.  If nothing major happens, I should be making that purchase two weeks from now.(yeah!!! so excited)

Guess what I saw in store today?? Halloween items! I was actually a little pissed off at it... I am still suffering separation anxiety from summer, savouring the last bit of it before it finally leaves, and I was suddenly bombarded with the undeniable truth that fall is almost here??? How on earth do you expect someone to be in the mood to shop??? Retailers should really study the consumer's psych before doing product merchandizing...

Burger deliciousness

I wore one of my favourt necklaces today, is it not love? My parents actually bought it when Hong Kong was returned to China in 1997. It is a limited addition necklace released for that occasion. That was 16 years ago... and I finally learned to appreciate its loveliness~

I went out for a delicious burger with co-workers during lunch, everyone is like, OMG Sunny, how can you eat so much and be so skinny... and I am just reminded how lucky I am to win the genetic lottery! I would have taken a picture of the burger, but I feel it would be inappropriate and immature to pull out my phone and start taking pictures... Maybe next time when I go there again outside of work! We sat out on the patio to enjoy the last bit of summer. I would normally not appreciate the patio because I much prefer AC, but this summer has just been so cold that even I savour the chance to embrace the sun.

Green Thumb~

Here is the story, over half a year ago, I read somewhere that avocado sprout better in soil that water. If you too have a green thumb like I do, you will know how difficult it is to grow an avocado plant from an avocado pit. But I was not going to give up without a fight. So I ate an avocado and threw the pit into a plant pot in my office.  Nothing happened for months... but I left it in the pot hoping it would make good fertilizer. But today, a co-worker told me that something has sprouted from the pot, and OMG!!! my avocado has grown a 10 cm tall branch!!! I was so ecstatic, and that was pretty much what I thought about all day~ Miracles do happen!

I finished my day off with some Big Brother 15. I am a huge BB fan~ I have not missed a season since I started watching it 6 years ago~ I really hope Amanda would leave soon, she is so annoying!

Morning visit to Rona

Had to visit Rona this morning before work to pick up some light switch covers. From the way I dressed, I stood out like a shiny light bulb in the dark, all the carpenters, plumbers were giving me the look...like why was I even there??? I bet no one in the store took me seriously. Oh well...
